Commentary, Response and Analysis

This is not an event notice, so if you would like to know when a programme is to be offered, join our emailing list and like us on Facebook or follow us on Twitter to receive regular updates.

A commentary, or textual analysis and response, is a close reading of a literary or non-literary text, with a focus on its meaning and style, and on the ways in which the text creator comunicates his/her intent, which is then presented in writing or orally. Accordingly, students must know how to read a text closely, how to relate it to the wider text or canon, the use and effect of literary and linguistic techniques inter alia and how to produce these findings.
