An introductory programme considering one of the challenges in being a Head of Department

Educational Leadership would be easy if everyone in your team was hard-working and collaborative, with a great attitude and exceptional talent.  The reality of course is different.  Some people are easy to manage and others are hard and “hard” takes many forms.  Some are talented but not collaborative, collaborative but not talented, too aggressive or not aggressive enough, well-intentioned but high maintenance, moody or easily distracted.  Some people are just difficult.  While individuals need to be managed individually, a team must be managed collectively.

This short course considers some realities in a school environment and some strategies on leading people who are difficult to lead.
