These two-hour single-topic programmes come from Británico´s Two-hour Programme series and can be taken singly or combined. If you don´t see something you would like, just ask. We can almost certainly provide it.

Phonetics and Phonology: Intonation and Rhythm – aimed at experienced ELT teachers interested in implementing alternative pronunciation techniques in their teaching practice

Speak 05An introduction to prosodic features, key concepts, an overview of English intonation and rhythm, English intonation patterns, tones and language functions, assimilation and simplification, audio discrimination games.

Phonetics and Phonology: Features of Connected Speech – aimed at experienced ELT teachers interested in implementing alternative pronunciation techniques in their teaching practice

Features of connected speech, key concepts, brief description of linking features, linking ‘r’, intrusive ‘r’, pronunciation games, consonant elision, audio discrimination games.

Phonetics and Phonology: Accentuation and Word Stress – aimed at experienced ELT teachers interested in implementing alternative pronunciation techniques in their teaching practice

An introduction to sentence accent and word stress, an overview of English accentuation, vowel elision, gradation and compression, pronunciation games, yod coalescence, audio discrimination games.

*We can often run a closed programme with as few as 4 – 5 participants (slightly more outside Santiago). If you can get four friends or colleagues together, ask us about a closed programme on your date(s), at your time(s) and in your location(s).
