Pairwork offers an opportunity for student-centred active learning, authentic and spontaneous oral production, genuine engagement with the material and quick, easy and reliable assessment. This programme examines justifications for pairwork, explores activities from simple to complex and from those for Young Learners to those for adults and provides a valid assessment framework.

pairs 05 Who : All teachers who seek to use student participation as an element of the teaching and learning process.

Length : eight hours – one-day intensive or two half-days semi-intensive or four two-hour sessions

Eligible for SENCE : yes

Format : seminar

Modalities : face-to-face “open”, or face-to-face “closed”

Recommended previous programmes : none

Recommended English level : CEFR-B2 or higher*
